DELAWARE — The Galion Tigers boys soccer team was in action for the first time since their historic win last Wednesday against the Buckeye Valley Barons. Galion did not have the luck that they had against Gilead Christian, falling to the Barons by a final score of 9-0.

The Tigers were able to get off just four shots on goal against Buckeye Valley. Matt Sparks attempted two, Lucas Connor and Ethan Zeger were both able to get one apiece.

At goalkeeper, Stephen Thompson recorded 13 saves while Connor added three.

“(We) played hard against a very skilled Buckeye Valley team. Although the score and saves totals don’t reflect it, the boys are improving. Their defensive shape is better and they’re managing to connect productive passes,” said coach John Stewart.

Galion looks for continued improvement when they travel to Ontario on Monday September 26 to meet up with the Warriors.
