Northmor volleyball team defeats Mount Gilead

MOUNT GILEAD — The Northmor Knights improve to 5-2 in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Blue Division after defeating the Mount Gilead Indians in straight sets; 25-15, 25-5 and 29-27.

The key to victory for the Knights on Tuesday was the serve. Kelsie Fike was 16/19 for the match while recording six aces and Hope Miracle was a perfect 18/18 from the line with three aces. Other contributors on the serve dominance were Rayanna Loyer, 6/6 with four aces and Anna Donner, 7/7 with three aces.

Fike, Miracle and Donner were also active on the attack for Northmor. Fike was 12/16 hitting with seven kills, Miracle added 8/10 with four kills and Donner tacked on 11/12 with five kills on the night. In addition to the strong serving, Loyer also had three kills for the match and Chloe Meier added three as well. Jordyn Zoll was 36/38 with 13 assists as the main ball handler for the Knights.

Northmor is now 11-2 overall this fall. They will be back in action on Wednesday in MOAC play against the Cardington Pirates. The match will be at Northmor High School.
