Colonel Crawford improves to 3-0 with 24-8 win over Mohawk

SYCAMORE — The Colonel Crawford Eagles improved to 3-0 on the season by defeating the Mohawk Warriors by a final score of 24-8.

The Eagles did most of their damage on the ground against the Warriors. Blake Treisch carried the weight for the team and the ball 28 times for 164 yards. Treisch was responsible for all 24 of Crawford’s offensive points scored on three touchdowns and he successfully converted two two-point conversions. Overall, the Eagles carried the ball 42 times for a total of 226 yards.

Hayden Bute, quarterback for Colonel Crawford, completed just one pass on the evening of the five that he attempted. That single catch was made by Kaleb Landin for five yards.

Defensively, the Eagles allowed a total of 212 yards on 53 plays. The Warriors were just 8/11 passing for 62 yards against the Eagles “D” and had 42 rushes for 150 yards. Colonel Crawford also earned two points on a safety.

Next Friday, the Eagles will welcome the Wynford Royals to North Robinson to do battle on the field and compete for a share of the top spot in the Northern 10 Conference.
