Galion Cross Country at Ashland Invite

ASHLAND — Galion’s boys and girls cross country teams were in action last Saturday in Ashland for the annual Ashland Invitational. The boys finished in 9th place out of 12 teams with 201 points and the girls finished in 10th out of a field of 14 with 244 points.

Top finishers for the Tigers were freshman Braxton Tate for the boys and senior Theresa House for the girls. Tate crossed the finish line in 24th place with a time of 18:23.1. House came across in the 29th place with a time of 22:47.6.

The Tigers girls team also saw finishing places of anywhere from 36th through 134th, including: Megan Zier (36th), Ashlie Sallee (62nd), Lauren Huggins (82nd), Harmony Lohr (103rd), Lexi Hadamuscin (104th), Abby Barre (110th), Murissa Windbigler (117th), Cheyenne Blair (131st) and Ashleigh Wright (134th).

Galion’s boys had many competing on Saturday as well and saw finishing spots from 47th to 123rd. The team for Galion was Luke Eisnaugle (47th), Weston Rose (51st), Spencer Guinther (56th), Garret Murphy (69th), Mikey Stover (70th), Kurt Ensman (71st), Colin McCullough (78th), Brendon Ganshorn (92nd), Nick Oehler (101st), Austin Rinehart (113th), Matt Sparks (114th), Bryce Barnhart (116th) and Darren Brooks (123rd).
