Tigers win Galion Invitational

GALION — The Galion boys golf team was back in action Wednesday at the Galion Invitational tournament at Sycamore Creek. Looking to capitalize on being at their home course, Galion got out to a good start and never looked back.

Galion won the team title for the second time in Coach Bryce Lehman’s five years as coach. As a team, they shot a 354, which bested the golfers from Clear Fork that finished just 2 strokes back at 356. Rounding out the rest of the team scoring were Fostoria (396), Mansfield Madison (402), Bucyrus (412) and Mansfield Senior (517).

Leading the way for the Tigers again was sophomore Jack McElligott, shooting an 87. Other conributing scores for the team were fellow sophomore Kaleb Harsh and seniors Brevin Owens and Nick Kruger with 89. Finishing up the scoring for the boys were Mitch Dyer (90) and Matt Kingseed (91).
