After winning the Division III long jump as a freshman, Northmor’s Demetrius Johnson was unable to make the podium in the event as a sophomore.
The Knight athlete struggled with his footwork, fouling on his first and third attempts. On his second jump, he was able to go 20’0.75”, which put him in 13th place, but not in the finals of the event, so he was unable to defend his title.
Two other Northmor competitors saw action in field events. In the high jump, James Walker cleared both 5’10” and 6’ on his second try and then made 6’2” on his third and final attempt. However, the junior would be unable to get over the bar at 6’3” and was eliminated in 14th place.
Senior Aaron Vitte competed in the pole vault and was able to clear 11’ on his second try and 11’6” on his first attempt before being eliminated at 12’. He finished 15th in the event.
