Softball: Galion defeats Marion Harding

The Galion Tigers and Marion Harding exchanged the lead seven times on Wednesday, but the Tigers ended up on top with a 7-6 win in seven innings.

The Tigers got the win thanks to a strong seventh inning, scoring Gabby Kaple on an RBI single by Aleena Truman.

Kaple racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Tigers. She singled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings.

Emily Sedmak handled the pitching duties for the Tigers. Sedmak allowed two earned runs, six hits and three walks while striking out 10 in seven innings of work.

Jenner was the game’s losing pitcher. She allowed seven runs in 6 1/3 innings, walked none and struck out seven.

The top of the first saw Marion Harding take an early lead, 2-0. A two-run home run by Jenner, scoring S Williams started the inning.

The Tigers pushed across one run in both the first inning and the third. In the first, the Tigers Dusty Thomas scored on an error.

Galion came back and scored three runs in the fifth on a two-run single by Kaple and an RBI single by Truman.
