Mount Gilead edges Cardington; Northmor boys shut out by Freddies

Mount Gilead survived a pitchers’ duel to edge Cardington by a 1-0 margin on Wednesday.

The host Indians scored one run in the bottom of the second inning and made it hold up in the contest. Noah Arrington struck out three and scattered four hits to grab the shutout victory. While the Indians only got two hits in the game, Tyler Conners cracked a double and scored the team’s run.

For Cardington, Devin Pearl took the hard-luck loss. He struck out five and walked three, while also hitting a triple. Nate Craig had two singles, while Daniel Kill cracked a double.

Northmor Knights

Northmor had a rough day at Fredericktown Wednesday, as they were no-hit in an 18-0 loss. While the Knights only surrendered eight hits in the game, they walked nine batters and committed five errors.

Sam Eichorn, Mostyn Evans, Nate Hall and Tyler Kegley pitched in the game for the Knights, with Eichorn striking out two batters.
