The Galion boys tennis team traveled to Marion Harding, coming home with a 5-0 victory Thursday afternoon.

This is two straight wins for the Tigers.

“The last two games they have been coming alive,” said Galion head coach Tom Pawsey.

And his assistant coach Terry Gribble said the team is continuing to work hard and improving each day.

Tanner Amos playing one singles won 6-1 and 6-4 to pick up his third win of the season. Lucas Conner at two singles won 6-0 and 6-0. Tristan Baldy at 3 singles won 6-0 and 6-0 to improve to 4-1 on the season.

First doubles team of Nic Oehler/Matt Sparks won 6-1, 1-6 and 6-2 for Galions fourth point.

“My first doubles, Nick Oehler and Matt Sparks, were really playing the net well,” Pawsey said.

At second doubles, Landon Rose/Ty Harris won 6-4 and 6-0 for Galion’s fifth point. Galion improves to 2-4 on the season.

“The players are coming together now, which I didn’t expect this soon, to help each other. That is an impressive situation,” Pawsey said. “One thing that has impressed me is that the players stay after practice when practice is officially over. It started with a couple players staying, then a few more, and now half the team is staying.”

Galion’s Lucas Conner at two singles won 6-0 and 6-0 against Marion Harding on April 14. The Tigers won with a 5-0 victory.
