It was a rough week for the Galion baseball team.
The team lost to North Union 12-11 in Mid Ohio Conference Action on Wednesday.
The Tigers’ Matt Hardy took the loss with a strikeout and two walks in the final inning. Nick McDaniel had a home run, while Josh Eckert and Garret Kuns each had a double. Kuns and Hardy had two hits.
Galion had had nine hits and six errors, while North Union had 11 hits and three errors.
Anthony Padovano was the winning pitcher with two strikeouts and four walks. Tim Davis hit a home run, while Kole Justin hit a double. Kody Price, Caisen Newell and Drake Price all had two hits.
Galion lost to conference foe Jonathan Alder 14-0 on Tuesday.
Softball
The Galion softball team lost to host North Union 6-0 Wednesday.
Wedding got the win for North Union pitching 7 innings of shutout ball. She struck out 11, walked one and gave up two hits. Clark, Wiley and Wilson helped lead North Union. They combined for six hits and six RBIs. Galion’s Emily Sedmak was the game’s losing pitcher. She allowed six runs in six innings, walked four and struck out five.
North Union added four more runs in the bottom of the sixth. A three-run home run by Wiley ignited the offense, scoring Wilson and Wedding. That was followed up by Clark’s solo home run.
The Lady Tigers lost to conference foe Jonathan Alder 10-0 on Tuesday.
