Ohio’s Raptors program
This program, on Monday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598 is for kids, up to grade 6. Ohio has many species of raptors, some year-round residents and others briefly passing through. Join the Crawford Park District’s Joy Etter-Link for enjoyable hands-on activities and a craft. Participants will have fun with Joy learning about raptors and their importance in food webs. Homeschool in Nature: Animal Whys?
On Thursday, Nov. 10 at 9 a.m. and at 10:30 a.m., at Lowe-Volk Park, the park district will offer programs for home-schooled children. In this class, participants will look into why different animals behave the way they do and why they might have different physical adaptations. This program is for children ages 5-8, who will meet from 9-10 a.m. Children ages 9-12 will meet from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Sessions will be limited to 20 per age group. Nature Hike at Heckert Nature Preserve
This hie is set for 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at Heckert Nature Preserve, 1601 Ohio 19, Bucyrus. Meet Crawford Park District Naturalist Warren Uxley who will lead the fall hike. The last flowering plants and insects of the year can be seen along the trail at Heckert and you may see anything from dragonflies to migrating warblers during this time of seasonal transition.

Come to the Nature Center and enjoy an hour of nature exploration led by Crawford Park District Naturalist, Josh Dyer. This program, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Lowe-Volk Park, will vary and may include a story, short hike, craft, or a visit from an animal. For pre-schoolers and their parents. Come dressed for the weather. Morning and afternoon programs will be similar, just choose the time that best fits your schedule. Call 419-683-9000 for information.
