Auto sales up in February for Crawford, Morrow counties

February was a good month for year-to-year used auto sales in Crawford and Morrow counties.

There were 321 used vehicles sold in February compared with 252 used vehicles in February 2015, according to data provided by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

The data comes from auto titles processed by county title departments by the final business day each month.

New sellers ticked up slightly to 24 in February compared with 22 in February 2015. In total, there were 345 vehicles sold in February and 274 vehicles in February 2015.

Auto sales improved in Crawford County, while Morrow County’s remained stagnant. There were 259 new and used vehicles sold in Crawford County for February compared with 188 in February 2015. Morrow County sold 86 new and used vehicles in February of both years.

The top makes for new and used sales in February were: Chevrolet with 122 sales; Ford with 53 sales; and Dodge with 26 sales.

The top dealers for new and used sales in the same month were: Matthews Chevrolet Bucyrus Inc. with 58 sales; Moyers Auto Wrecking Inc. of Crestline with 29 sales; and Hill Equipment of Marengo with 28 sales.

The top makes for new and used sales in February 2015 were: Chevrolet with 83 sales; Ford with 61 sales; and Pontiac with 19 sales. The top dealers for new and used sales in the same month were: Matthews Chevrolet Bucyrus Inc. with 51 sales; TJ’S Auto Sales LLC of Bucyrus with 29 sales; and All Quality Auto Parts of Galion with 18 sales.
