Downtown Bucyrus will be buzzing with something new this summer as the business community is developing First Fridays. The promotional effort is being led by Sue Logsdon of UB Dazzled and will bring special attention to the retail community as the place to be on the first Fridays of June, July and August.

Retailers want the public to experience the downtown area as an enjoyable place to shop during extended store hours, as well as relax and enjoy the evenings with a meal at one of the restaurants there or specialty vendors who come in for the evening.

Those interested in getting in on the planning process or getting their business involved those evenings are asked to contact Trish Ratliff at the Tourism and Visitors Bureau or Tyler Jacobs at the Chamber of Commerce. Tentative themes for the three dates are Health and Fitness on June 3, an Art Walk on July 1, and a picnic with police and firefighters on Aug. 5.
