Wayside Garden Club notes – March

0

The March 17 meeting of the Wayside Garden Club began with a presentation on succulents by Jared Hughes, owner of Groovy Plants Ranch. He noted that all succulents are becoming very popular partly because of little care requirements. All cacti are succulents but not all succulents are cacti. He then gave a “slide show” of some colorful examples of the more than 25,000 different succulents that included some beautiful potted ones exhibiting the many varied forms. On another note, he explained that the succulents breathe at night, contributing to “healthy” air in your house.

The meeting was then adjourned and the roll call question, “Do you have any succulents?” was answered by eight members.
