Drake Barnett, a senior at Galion High School, was recently selected as the February 2016 Student of the Month. The positive character trait for February at GHS was “self-control.”
Drake currently serves as an office worker. He is a member of the football, wrestling and track teams, having earned All-Ohio honors in football and wrestling this year.
“Being named Student of the Month is a great honor,” Barnett said. “It tells me I’ve been a great student and great person to my peers, and that I should keep it up.”
After graduating from GHS, Drake plans to attend the University of Findlay and study Criminal Justice or Sports Management. He also plans to be a member of the Oiler football team.
“Drake is a great example for students of what it means to have self-control,” High School Principal Ron Williams said. “He is very deserving of this honor and is a positive role model for students at GHS.”
