A family of five is without a home after a fire swept through their mobile home at 3575 Washington St., in Chatfield Wednesday morning.
According to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, a call came in at 10:09 a.m. from a passerby that a trailer was possibly on fire in Chatfield near the grocery store. Chatfield Township firefighters were paged to the scene and later requested assistance from Lykens, New Washington and Holmes Township fire departments. Life Support Ambulance was also called to the scene along with a deputy from the Sheriff’s Office. Troopers from the Bucyrus Post of the Ohio State Patrol assisted with traffic and scene control.
According to a relative, the family consists of two adults and three sons and their home is a total loss. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Chatfield Township Fire Department.
