Ohio Senators Rob Portman and Sherrod Brown offered statements Saturday following the death of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia in Texas.
Here’s what they said.
“As the longest serving justice, Justice Scalia dedicated three decades to the Court and we recognize his service. Connie and I send our deepest condolences to his wife Maureen and their family.”
“I’m deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Antonin Scalia. The country has lost an intellectual giant, and an extraordinary Supreme Court justice. I was honored to know him and appreciated his constitutional expertise as well as his warmth and humor. He was one of the pre-eminent Supreme Court justices of our time, as well as a tireless champion of the rule of law and defender of the Constitution. Jane and I extend our condolences to his wife Maureen and his family on their loss.”
