“Mo” Taylor, a gallery worker The Brush and Palette Art Gallery in Galion, takes down art work from the Crawford County Arts Council Show which was recently held at the gallery.

The Brush and Palette Art Gallery in Galion is calling for art for July’s showcase called “This Land is Your Land.”

The gallery is looking for original landscapes painted, drawn, quilted, anything done by themselves, showing anyplace in the United States.

“We need family-friendly pieces, judging is whether it’s family friendly and enough space,” gallery worker Melissa “Mo” Taylor said. “Space is limited so not everything will be able to be hung.”

The B & P Art Gallery opened May 1 and is part co-op, part gallery and part teaching facility. The gallery has a variety of classes being offered, the classes for July and August are being updated due to new teachers who are offering new classes, including photography, portrait painting, drawing, acrylics and kids classes.

“We really want it to be open to the public, to have public involvement,” Taylor said. “We want people in the community to know a fun place to come and hang out. To realize there is something in Galion that wasn’t here before. We also have artwork for sell. We haven’t sold tons, but we have sold a few paintings and small things.”

Art drop-off times for “This Land is your Land” is 2-5 p.m. July 3. There is a $5 hanging fee per piece. Framed art must have a wire for hanging. The show will run until July 31 with a meet the artist reception from 4-8 p.m. July 10.
