Galion City Schools salutes local veterans

GALION — Galion City Schools has embarked on a project to recognize and thank area veterans, and their families, for their service to the United States. The district has created, and is making available, a total of 250 “Thank You” yard signs for veterans to display.

“We wanted to do something extra special, on a district level, to say ‘Thank You’ to our veterans,” Superintendent Jennifer Allerding said. “We hope area veterans, and their families, will accept this small token of appreciation from the students, staff, and administration of the Galion City Schools.”

A total of 250 yard signs will be available until they have all been handed out. Any veteran, or anyone that knows a veteran, can pick one up at any of the following locations now through Veterans Day:

• Galion City Schools Board Office, 470 Portland Way North, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays

• Galion-Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce, 138 Harding Way West, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays

• Galion VFW, 229 South Market Street

• Galion American Legion, 118 South Market Street

• Army-Navy Garrison, 205 Harding Way East

• Galion Amvets Post 1979, 420 Harding Way East

Please contact Galion Superintendent Jennifer Allerding at 419-468-3432 or email [email protected] for additional information or with questions.
