GALION — The Galion Middle School leadership team will host its annual Spooktacular Trick-or-Treat event from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29.

This year’s event will be held in the halls of GMS for Galion families with children ages toddler up to grade 5. Participating families will have an opportunity walk through GMS and stop at numerous decorated tables allowing their little ones to collect holiday treats.

For the safety of all attendees, Galion City Schools asks that all family members and children ages 10 and above wear masks when interacting with Spooktacular event coordinators, Galion school staff, event sponsors and volunteers. Halloween costumes are highly encouraged. Those participating in this year’s event are encouraged to donate one canned, non-perishable, food item.

“We are thrilled to be able to provide this event for the younger Tigers in our community,” Galion Middle School Principal Paul Wheeler said. “This is a great opportunity for Galion Middle School students to take a leadership role in providing the younger members of our community with the opportunity to trick-or-treat in a safe and fun way.”

More than twenty area businesses and local organizations agreed to sponsor this year’s Spooktacular Trick-or-Treat event. In addition to local businesses, many Galion City Schools clubs and organizations will have tables with representatives and volunteers passing out candy to children and families.

Entertainment will be provided by the Galion Marching Band while the GMS Art Club will display their pumpkin decorations throughout the venue. Families will also be able to interact with Galion’s first responder teams and members of the Galion Fire Department.
