Port Authority director to speak at Realtor Roundtable on Oct. 12

GALION — Galion Port Authority Executive Director Mark Rantala will be the keynote speaker at a Realtor Roundtable on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at the Big Four Depot Pavilion, 127 North Washington Street in Galion. The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m.

The program sponsored by the Galion Port Authority is open to the public. The topic of the morning will be “Economic Development is Everyone’s Job.”

The 45-minute program will include presentations on the role of the real estate community in economic development. Rantala will also explain how the Port Authority can assist the real estate community on projects in Galion. Mayor Tom O’Leary will explain Community Reinvestment Areas (CRAs) and the opportunity to receive tax abatement for new investment.

Support of other economic development programs including Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing and ESIDs (Energy Special Improvement Districts) will also be discussed.

Port Authority Board member Gary Frankhouse will give an update on the Freese Center.

Galion real estate agents are invited to attend this program and learn more about the Galion Port Authority and how it can support economic development.
