Sept. 24

Police investigated a two-vehicle crash that occurred in the 800 block of Harding Way West. Officers issued a citation to one of the motorists for violation of assured clear distance ahead. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were disabled and had to be towed from the scene.

Police investigated a two-vehicle crash that occurred in the 200 block of East Payne Avenue. No injuries were reported. Both parties drove their vehicles away from the scene.

Police issued a verbal warning to a motorist for a damaged tail light following a traffic stop in the vicinity of Harding Way West and Portland Way North.

Police investigated a report of juveniles running through an apartment complex and causing a disturbance in the 200 block of Libby Lane. Officers advised one of the juveniles to stay off the property.

Police investigated a report of unruly juveniles at Heise Park. Galion City Schools officials advised officers the two juveniles were ejected from the football stadium where a game was in progress. Both juveniles left the stadium. School officials advised officers they would handle the issue.

Police issued verbal warnings to a female subject and a male subject for having suspected illegal drugs in their vehicle following a traffic stop in the vicinity of Harding Way East and Columbus Street. A police K9 indicated that there was a suspicious substance inside the vehicle. Police seized the suspected illegal substance and disposed of it. Officers also issued a citation to the female subject for a loud exhaust system on her vehicle.

Police assisted the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office with an investigation at Amick’s Reservoir on State Route 309.

Police K9 assisted the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office with an investigation in the vicinity of South and Atwood streets. K9 indicated on a suspicious substance inside a vehicle. Suspected illegal drugs were located. Police took information for a report.

Police issued a verbal warning to a motorist for not having working tail lights following a traffic stop in the 700 block of Harding Way West.

Police issued verbal warnings to two male subjects for loud music after responding to a report of a disturbance in the 400 block of Grand Street.

Police investigated a report of a missing female juvenile. Officers took information for a report.

Sept. 25

Police and EMS responded to a report of an individual who fell and was injured in the 400 block of Harding Way East. Individual suffered a head injury.

Police investigated a report of a suspicious person in the 400 block of Grove Avenue. Male subject was allegedly looking in car windows in that area.

Police arrested a female subject who was wanted on a warrant for domestic violence issued in Richland County. She was taken into custody after police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the 100 block of Harding Way East. Police transferred the female subject to the custody of the Mansfield Police Department.

Police investigated a report of juveniles threatening another juvenile in the 1400 block of Baeher Street. Officers provided extra patrols in the area.

Police issued a verbal warning to a motorist for fictitious license plates following a traffic stop in the vicinity of South Boston and Walnut streets.

Police issued a citation to a motorist for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the vicinity of Erie Street and Gill Avenue.

Police seized suspected illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop in the vicinity of Harding Way East and South Street. Charges are pending against the subject who had the items in their possession.

Sept. 26

Police arrested a male subject on suspicion of improperly handling firearms inside a motor vehicle following a traffic stop in the vicinity of Mansfield Street and Harding Way East. Police discovered a loaded firearm inside the suspect’s vehicle. He was transported to the Crawford County Justice Center.

Police issued a verbal warning to a motorist for expired license tags following a traffic stop in the vicinity of West Church and Union streets.

Police issued a verbal warning to a motorist for not having a functioning driver’s side brake light following a traffic stop in the vicinity of Portland Way South and Henry Street.

Police issued a warning for a red light violation to a motorist following a traffic stop in the 700 block of Harding Way West.
