Night of Hope slated at Wesley Chapel

0

This year’s A Night of Hope will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday at Wesley Chapel Church of Christ, 260 Sixth Ave., in Galion. The event is sponsored each year by the group, Together We Hurt, Together We Heal.

The Together group was founded by three mothers in their desperation to find a way to help their adult children overcome their addictions.

The group now has an office at 907 N. Sandusky Ave., in Bucyrus that is headed up by program coordinator, Mary Jo Carle.

Holidays are a stressful time for some people, including those who are struggling with addiction. A Night of Hope is offered as a way for the community to come together to share hope, encouragement, and support with one another.

Every year, the event consists of a candle lighting ceremony in remembrance of those who have died as a result of their disease, those who are in a treatment facility or incarcerated as a result of their disease, people who are dealing with addiction in their own families and those who continue to struggle with their disease.

The group encourages anyone to come who is hurting from addiction. Along with a message of hope, singing, refreshments, and a small gift for each family will be offered.
