Council of Aging chief to retire in February

Crawford County Council on Aging, Inc. Executive Director Margaret “Peg” Wells, R.N. has said she will retire in February.

Wells started with the group in 1996 as the In Home Services Director and in 2002 moved into the position of Executive Director.

“Under her leadership the Council on Aging has expanded in many areas including the development of the newly formed Senior Activities program; she has increased public awareness of the organization through many public engagements; has increased units of service provided over prior years; has developed the expansion within the food service department with the building of a new kitchen to provide additional meals for senior citizens in the county,” the group’s Board of Trustees said in a statement.

Trustees will be accepting resumes through Dec. 4.
