Galion scout troop planning an open house March 22

GALION — Scouting USA Boy Troop 304 and Girls Scout 304 will host an open house at their sponsor, Galion American League Scarbrough Post 243, 118 S. Market St., on Sunday March 22 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The purpose of the open house is to inform prospective members and parents about this scouting program in Galion. Dinner will be served during the program.

This troop has been active in Galion for more than 60 years. Girls can now also join a forming Girl Troop, that is sponsored by the American Legion. Troop 304 has done many service projects over the years for the schools, community and surrounding area.

Scouts work on rank by learning skills, participation an leadership. Camping, cooking and hiking are common activities for Troop 304. Longer travel trips and other adventures are available at summer camps in the mountains of Tennessee and West Virginia, New Hampshire, Washington D.C. and other places.

Troop members and leaders look forward to the friendship and camaraderie of new members. If parents and youth would like to attend, please call Alan Allwine at 419-571-5006 and Martha Morris at 567-241-1927 by March 20.
