Over 50 attend German reunion

The German Reunion was held Sept. 26 at Harrison Township Complex in Outville, Ohio. Approximately 54 family and friends attended. Betty Bowles and her son Joe were in charge of the reunion.

Four of the five children of the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard German attended, including Betty Bowles of Pataskala, Edna Coy of Galion, Robert German of Newark and Howard Curtis German of Lansville.

Family and friends gathered in a circle holding hands to have a moment of silence in memory of brother John German who passed away Oct. 20, 2014. Five balloons were released in honor of John, who was loved and missed dearly by family and friends.

The five balloons were held by Betty, Edna, Robert, Curt and the fifth balloon was held by John’s great grandson, six month old John Leader, son of Emily Emily and Matt Leader.

Prayer was given by Jody German before guests enjoyed lunch. Guests attending came from Pataskala, Newark, Heath, Johnstown, Granville, Glenford, Galion, Shelby, Norwalk, Langsville, Chillicothe and Cardington.

50/50 tickets were sold by Rita Weaver and her daughter Staci Hankins. It was won by Sheri Blankenship. Allisa Hedrick will be in charge for the 2016 Reunion.
