Leesville Grange #2078/Crawford Co. Pomona Grange #36 met at the Jefferson Twp. Fire Dept. on Oct. 6 for a potluck meal and planning the 2015-2016 Grange year. Master/President Donald Graf offered prayer before the meal and presided over the meeting.

Donald Graf and Kathie Burkman will be delegates to the Ohio State Grange Convention and on the Grange By-Laws committee for review of resolutions. The convention will run from October 29-November 1 at the Holiday Inn in Worthington. The resolutions that we will be reviewing were discussed.

The Family Activities Chairperson, Priscilla Laughbaum, reported that the State sewing contests are comfort stuffed toy, tote bag, cosmetic bag and hat. Nifty needles contests were mentioned. She reported on Community Service projects; Conkerr cancer pillow case, coupons for military, collection of eyeglasses and Project Linus blanket.

The Deaf Activities Chairman thanked everyone who brought hats and gloves for the Ohio School of the Deaf. Donation of school supplies will be taken to the convention. Article read about various assistance dog laws.

Community Services Chairman announced the Make-A-Difference project at the Ohio State Grange Convention bringing paper products and non-perishable food items for Southeast Ohio Food Bank. Monetary donation was given to Flying Horse Farms in Mt. Gilead.

The Ohio State Grange announced the new theme for the 2015-2016 Grange Year will be “Fellowship, Service and Legislation Providing Opportunities for Individuals and Families to Develop Their Highest Potential.”

Lecturer’s Program theme for the evening was “Clouds-Filling the Sky with Creative Beauty and Form.”

The next regular Leesville Grange meeting and potluck banquet will be held at the Calvary UCC Church in Crestline at 6 p.m Nov. 14. Bring covered dish and table service. Beverage will be provided.
