NASA returns to Mid-Ohio this weekend.

LEXINGTON — Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will host the 14th annual National Auto Sport Association (NASA) Championships presented by Toyo Tires this weekend. More than 300 competitors in 26 classes will be on the track, plus there will be more than 60 drivers racing in seven Time Trial classes. NASA is returning to Mid-Ohio, the site of its inaugural championships event in 2006.

Racing is Friday, Sept. 2o through Sunday Sept. 22.

NASA was formed in 1991 with the premise of delivering high-quality motorsports events to enthusiasts at major racing venues throughout the nation. NASA has created programs that allow owners of both racecars and high-performance street-driven vehicles to enjoy the full performance capabilities of their cars in a controlled, professionally managed environment. NASA offers many different programs which provide enjoyment for motorsports in a number of different levels, including its High-Performance Driving Events (HPDE), Rally Sport, Time Trial, NASA-X and Competition Racing programs. NASA has 14,000 members in 15 regions across the U.S.

Ticket information: Children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by a ticketed adult, plus free parking is available. General admission is $40 for the weekend or $30 for daily passes ($5 additional for tickets purchased at the gate). The garage paddock is open free during the event to get up close to the cars and drivers. Tent and motor home camping is available on site.
