REPORT: OHIO 10TH MOST LENIENT WHEN IT COMES TO DUI – With drunk driving causing nearly a third of all motor vehicle fatalities and with penalties for DUI varying widely by state, the leading personal finance website WalletHub conducted an in-depth analysis of 2015’s Strictest and Most Lenient States on DUI.
To help drivers understand which states impose the harshest penalties on drunk drivers, WalletHub analyzed the enforcement rules in each of the 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia across 15 key metrics. Our data set ranges from minimum jail sentences to ignition interlock device requirements that drastically reduce repeat arrests of previously convicted drunk drivers.

CITY BARBECUE SANDWICH NAMED ONE OF NATION’S BEST – Restaurant Hospitality magazine recently named City Barbeque’s “More Cowbell” sandwich one of the best in the country. The editors of Restaurant Hospitality magazine scoured the country for the best sandwiches, asking chefs and restauranteurs alike for nominations. The editors then narrowed the field based on customer reviews and several other factors then secretly visited the top contenders. The More Cowbell sandwich was among six sandwiches recognized in the beef category as America’s Best.
“This year’s Best Sandwiches in America Contest was insane this year with so many entries. That was particularly true in the beef category, which attracted a lot more attention than many of the other categories,” said Michael Sanson, editor-in-chief of Restaurant Hospitality magazine. “We were blown away by City Barbeque’s More Cowbell (hilarious name). The brisket sandwich was a complex delicious sloppy mess! We want another!”
The More Cowbell sandwich consists of City Barbeque’s award-winning smoked beef brisket, topped with melted provolone cheese, grilled peppers and sautéed onions, onion straws and horseradish dressing all piled high between two pieces of garlic buttered Texas toast. The sandwich was launched last year and has already become a fan favorite. “It’s got an addictive quality to it,” said Brian Hipsher, VP of Marketing for City Barbeque, “our guests simply have a fever for it—they gotta have More Cowbell.” If you want to try this award winning sandwich, City Barbeque has eight restaurants in the Columbus market.
ART EXHIBITION PLANNED – The University of Findlay’s Visual and Performing Arts Department presents an exhibition by UF alumna and artist Whitney Goller through June 30 at the Dudley and Mary Marks Lea Gallery.
The opening reception will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on June 19.
Goller earned a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts from UF. She expects to graduate in 2016 with a Master of Fine Arts degree from East Tennessee State University’s Department of Art and Design, in Johnson City, Tennessee. She also teaches introductory level fine art courses there.
Goller works with a breadth of media and subject matter. In her current research and work, Goller is investigating identity formation and the transportation between the internal and external self. Her goal is to obtain a better understanding of identity itself.
The Lea Gallery is located inside the University’s Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion. Gallery hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day for the duration of the exhibition. Parking and handicapped access are available.
