Local earn diplomas from Findlay

FINDLAY — More than 800 graduates earned doctoral, master’s, bachelor’s or associate degrees last month at Findlay University. They include: Kelly Baker, of Galion: Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. Baker graduated from the University with the academic designation of summa cum laude;Olivia Tanner, of Galion: Master of Arts in Education; Kali Winbigler, of Galion: Bachelor of Science in Business Management; Elizabeth Corwin, of Galion: Bachelor of Science in Animal Science; Clay Fogle, of Bucyrus, Doctor of Pharmacy and a Master of Business Administration; Karlee Koge, of Bucyrus: Bachelor of Science in Biology. Koge graduated from the University with the academic designation of cum laude; and Austin Stevens, of Bucyrus: Bachelor of Science in Biology.

Area residents graduate from Columbus State

COLUMBUS — Galion’s Aleise M. Ruth and Mount Gilead’sTaylor M. Carpenter and Justin A. Mattox graduated recently from Columbus State Community College. Mattox graduated with cum laude honors.

Local students graduate from Ohio Dominican

COLUMBUS — Ohio Dominican University officially welcomed more than 230 graduates into its alumni family during the University’s 111th Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 11, 2019. Graduates were joined by hundreds of family and friends in Alumni Hall. Area graduates included Lane Foster of Galion, Allie Atkinson of Mansfield and Sophia Foster of Fredericktown.

Bluffton University has area graduate

BLUFFTON— Kelsey Reeder of Galion earned a bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition during Bluffton University’s 119th annual commencement ceremony on May 5.

Columbus State announces dean’s list

COLUMBUS — The following students have been named to the Spring Semester Dean’s List at Columbus State Community College: Tabitha Smith from Galion; Justin Mattox and Virgil Schofield of Mount Gilead; and Michael Thacker of Columbus.

Muskingum University Dean’s List

NEW CONCORD — Nathan Hall of Mount Gilead has been named to the spring dean’s list at Muskingum University.

Two locals graduate from Ohio Connections Academy

COLUMBUS — Two Crawford County students were among more than 380 graduating seniors from all over Ohio received their high school diplomas as members of Ohio Connections Academy’s Class of 2019. As many as 220 of the students travelled to Columbus to participate in the online charter school’s commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 8th at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Included in the class were Zachary Brooks of Galion and Kian Hughes of Bucyrus. This was the 11th graduating class for the state’s leading provider of high-quality, tuition-free virtual education for students in grades K–12.

Findlay dean’s list announced

FINDLAY — The dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester at the University of Findlay has been announced. Local students on the list include: Elizabeth Corwin and Jared Dixon of Galion, Addison Ackerman of New Washington and Amanda Crase of Bucyrus, Carli Fogle, Karlee Koge, Gabriella Seibert, Cyle Skidmore, Kade Slagle and Sydney Studer of Bucyrus.

Mount Union dean’s list

ALLIANCE — The University of Mount Union has announced that Jordan Minns, of Crestline, Ohio, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester.

Ohio Wesleyan dean’s list

DELAWARE — Ohio Wesleyan University spring semester dean’s list includes Lyndsay McMullen and Callie Wildenthaler of Galion and Gram Dick and Breanna Fry of Bucyrus.

Shawnee State names dean’s list

PORTSMOUTH — Three area students have been named to the spring semester dean’s list at Shawnee State University. They included Caleb Smith of Bucyrus, Abigail of Galion and Sienna King of Shelby.
