Grief support group meetings Mondays at St. Paul UMC

GALION — Grief is a journey that you don’t need to take by yourself. Receive encouragement, comfort and help by being part of a biblical, Christ-centered teaching with people who understand how you are feeling.

St. Paul United Methodist Church, 746 Cherry St., is hosting a 13-week support group on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Anyone who has lost a loved one is welcome and because each week is self-contained, you may join at any time and make up the sessions missed at ourfall program.

River Valley schools superintendent will speak at breakfast

BUCYRUS — Superintendent Jim Peterson is the Superintendent of the River Valley School District in Marion County will be the guest speaker for the Men’s Community Breakfast. Mr. Peterson was awarded the Advanced State Principal of the Year in 2008. The breakfast will take place at the Bucyrus Community Hospital Cafeteria on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 7:00 a.m. Ladies are more than welcome to attend.

Spring seminar set for Ohio Central Bible College

MOUNT GILEAD — The Rev. Dr. Dennis Schultz, of Mount Gilead will teach the Ohio Central Bible College Spring Seminar. His topic will be “Comparing and Contrasting Protestant Denominations.” The event will be held Saturday, April 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mount Gilead Public Library’s Annex Building, 35 E. High Street in the lower level meeting room. The building is accessible to the handicapped. This will be the first time that OCBC holds an academic event in Mount Gilead.

Schultz is the Dean of Faculty at OCBC, a Christian and independent Bible college with its main campus in Iberia. He is pastor of the Concord Liberty Baptist Church in Johnstown and an adjunct professor at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Schultz is a graduate of Palmer Seminary of Eastern University (D. Min.), Westminster Seminary (M.A.) and Grace College (B.A.). He was ordained by the American Baptist Churches/USA and has ministered in four churches over his 42 years of pastoral service.

It costs $20. Lunch will be held at a restaurant in downtown Mount Gilead. The seminar is open to the public and also area pastors desiring continuing education credit. Phone 419-946-5576 for information or to register.

Spaghetti, meatball dinner April 13 at Olivesburg UMC

OLIVESBURG — Olivesburg United Methodist Church, 4748 State Rout 545, will have its annual Spaghetti and Meatball Supper on Saturday, April 13, from 5-7 p.m. Donations will be taken for the meal. Reservations are not necessary, but will be taken at 567-292-9444. Dinner includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread, drink and dessert. There also will be a table with home-made crafts and baked goods for sale.

Professional fisherman, Bucyrus businessman speaking at Resurrection Breakfast

MANSFIELD — Professional fisherman and author Al Lindner will be the featured speaker at the 31st annual Resurrection Breakfast on Saturday, April 20, at the Mid-Ohio Conference Center, 890 W. Fourth St. in Mansfield.

Pat Hord, president of Hord family Farms in Bucyrus, also will share testimony. Music will be provided by the Colonial City Quartet.

Lindner is co-host of Lindner’s Angling and Fishing Edge TV series. He is one of the best-recognized fishing authorities in North American and has been inducted into numerous halls of fame.
