BUCYRUS — Mike Kocher, the owner of MKB Farms Ltd./Kocher Livestock LLC in Galion, has been named to the United Bank advisory board. Kocher has a successful background in agriculture and has strong familiarity with United Bank and the needs of his community.

With his wife Brenda and son Nick, Kocher owns and operates a 2,000-acre farm that grows corn, soybeans, wheat and hay and feeds a herd of about 800 cattle.

“With Mike on our advisory board, we’re getting the best of both worlds,” said Donald Stone, president of United Bank. “We can lean on the experience of a long-time and successful business owner while gaining the insight of someone who has deep roots in his community. I’m certain United Bank will benefit greatly from his insights and counsel.”

Kocher earned an associate’s degree in beef management from the Agricultural Technical Institute at The Ohio State University. He is a member of the Ohio Corn Growers Association, Ohio Soybean Association, Cattlemen’s Association and Crawford County Farm Bureau.

As Kocher joins the board, Kenneth Parr Jr. is retiring. Parr, who previously owned Parr Insurance Agency Inc., has been on the United Bank advisory board for 20 years.

“Ken has been a valuable voice on our board for two decades,” Stone said. “He leaves with our heartfelt gratitude for his many years of service.”
