CHIP funding available for home rehabs

GALION — The Crawford County CHIP Program is now accepting applications for the sixth round of owner rehabs starting Oct. 2 and running thru Oct. 27. Owner Rehabilitation is intended to correct sub-standard conditions throughout the house so that the homes are safe, healthy, durable, energy efficient and affordable. Galion Health Department shut schedule

GALION — The Health Department, 113 Harding Way East, ha daytime immunization appointment times Monday, Oct 9 and Monday, Oct. 23 . Call to schedule your appointment and have all insurance information ready. Medicaid and many private insurance cards will be accepted and must be provide d by the time of service. Those with multiple insurance carriers must bring all cards. No VFC eligible child will be denied immunizations due to the inability to pay.

Crawford SWCD conservation series

BUCYRUS — Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District is hosting a workshop series to highlight a few unique operations around the county. Join for one or all of the workshops. Each evening will begin at the farm/residence and last no more than two hours. Each will offer information, a tour, and chance for questions and answers.

Small Scale Livestock Production is Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at 980 Brokensword Road in Sycamore. Mike and Angie Hall will share tips on successfully raising livestock on a small scale. They raise meat goats, poultry and swine. Learn how to raise livestock on small acreage that is affordable and delicious.
