Danville hands Northmor first loss

DANVILLE — The Northmor Golden Knights football squad took to the road on Friday night to clash with fellow Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference member, the Danville Blue Devils.

Northmor was handed their first loss of their season by Danville; 41-34. The Knights are now 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the KMAC.

Meechie Johnson had another huge game on the ground for the Knights, running the ball 30 times en route to picking up 370 yards and all five Northmor touchdowns. Johnson was just 6/13 passing for 37 total yards.

In total, Northmor had 37 passing yards on the night to go with 429 yards rushing compared to the Blue Devils’ 126 yards rushing and 337 yards passing (466-463).

Wyatt Reeder earned all of the receiving yards netted by Northmor, catching five passes for 38 yards. Conan Becker carried the ball 14 times to pick up 57 yards while Ryland Thomas carried the ball once for four yards and Hunter Mariotti, once for two yards. Kyle Kegley was 4/4 in extra-point attempts on the evening.

The Golden Knights will look to get back on the winning track next Friday when KMAC play continues for them at Cardington.
