Lady Tigers remained perfect as first half of tennis season ends

GALION — On a beautiful Tuesday, Galion welcomed Buckeye Valleyto Heise Park in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference tennis action.

The Galion squad wrapped the first half of league competition with an unblemished mark of 6-0 in the conference after sweeping the visitors; 5-0. Galion is 8-0 overall and the only undefeated team in the MOAC.

At first singles, Kayley Gimbel won her match 6-0, 6-0 to improve to 7-1. Katherine Talbott, at second singles, also won 6-0, 6-0. Jalyn Oswald also 6-0, 6-0. Talbott and Oswald are still unscathed on the season at 8-0.

The No. 2 duo of Elli Chandler and Katie Baughn improved to 8-0 with a 6-1, 6-0 win and the first doubles duo of Danielle Schneider and Kiersten Gifford won  7-5, 6-2 to bump their record to 6-2.

On Thursday, the Lady Tigers will pick back up in MOAC play when Pleasant visits Heise Park.
