Area students honored by BGSU

Over 180 awards and scholarships were issued by Bowling Green State University’s College of Education and Human Development this spring.

Area students who were honored include:

* Senior Adam Paynter of Galion is the recipient of the $450 Martha Kumler Memorial Scholarship. The athletic training major is also the president of the Athletic Training Student Organization, a member of Pre-PT club, and is in the Honors College among other campus and community activities. He graduated from Buckeye Central High School in 2012 and is the son of David and Kathleen, 7950 Oldfield Road.

* Beth Jarvis of Galion, a sophomore majoring in Tourism, Leisure, and Event Planning, was awarded the Abby Lynn Hettel Memorial Award in the amount of $2,850. She is a group leader for the Martin Luther King Junior Day of Service and a member of the the A Cappella Choir. Jarvis graduated from Galion High School in 2013 and is the daughter of John and Amy Jarvis.
