Tigers keeps winning streak alive, beat Buckeye Valley at Oak Haven

DELAWARE — On Wednesday afternoon, the red-hot Galion Tigers golf teams traveled to Delaware to Oak Haven Golf Club to meet up for a clash with Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference foes, the Buckeye Valley Barons.

Galion improved to 4-0 overall and 4-0 in the MOAC by defeating the host Barons by a tally of 164-189.

Matthew McMullen took medalist honors on the course for the Tigers, firing a field-low 38. Mitch Dyer was right behind him with a 39, Jack McElligott contributed a score of 43 and Kaleb Harsh wrapped the Galion kept scores with a 44. Spencer Keller finished with a scorecard reading 47 and Matt Kingseed shot a 50 on the day in the victory.

The junior varsity squad also defeated the conference rival; 204-246.

Alec Dicus once again was the top Tigers player for the jayvee, finishing with a score of 48. Jacob Lear chipped in with a 49, Bronson Dalenberg turned in a 53 and Tyler Kruger a 54.Aaron Stewart shot 55.

On Thursday, the junior varsity squad will take on Buckeye Central at Cranberry Hills and the varsity will be back in action on Friday at Twin Lakes Golf Course in Mansfield where the squads meet up with Mansfield Senior. MOAC action will pick back up on Tuesday, August 22 at Mill Creek Golf Club in Ostrander when the Tigers take on North Union.
