Thursday

2:58 a.m. — Police received a call from a Dawsett Avenue residence about a woman who had been threatened by an acquaintance. As an officer arrived on scene, the person who took off ran away and after a foot pursuit was given a verbal warning to stay away.

7:25 a.m. — Police issued warnings and a three vehicles were moved after an employee of Mane Control, in the 100 block of Harding Way East, complained of cars illegally parked.

2:10 p.m. — A resident in the 100 block of South Murray reported someone broke into his home while he was away.

4:19 p.m. — A call from the 300 block of Third Avenue was a report of a dog who ran after a boy on his bicycle. Police weren’t able to find the dog.

5:06 p.m. — Police received a call about a man who almost got hit crossing Harding Way, and who was behind Galion Public Library allegedly drinking alcohol. A 51-year-old man was arrested and taken to the Crawford County Sheriff’s office to sober up. He faces charges of disorderly conduct and having an open container of alcohol in a public place.

5:17 p.m. — A resident in the 300 block of Fairview called to report people “doing drugs” in his garage. One person was arrested.

7:16 p.m. — Information was taken for a report after a rock hit a truck in the 500 block of Galion Arms.

7:18 p.m. — A man was arrested in the 500 block of First Avenue after a report of a fist fight in the middle of the road. A 34-year-old man was arrested on charges of assault and burglary.

7:54 p.m. — A humane society officer took control of a scene after police recieved a call of a dog left alone who barks all the time in the 100 block of South East Street.

8:07 p.m. — Police talked to a man on Bel Air after a dog reportedly got loose and was acting aggressively.

9:41 p.m. — A report of a suspicious person behind United Bank at 10:14 p.m. turned a out to be a man waiting for his vehicle to be towed.

Friday

12:47 a.m. — After receiving a call from the Crawford Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, police went to a residence in the 5000 block of Ohio 19 to check on a man who was reported to be suicidal and carrying a hatchet. The man was detained.

10:23 a.m. — Police freed a dog that was stuck in a wooden fence in the 300 block of North Columbus Street. The freed dog, and another dog, were taken to the police station because they could not be locked up because of the broken fence.

10:54 a.m. — Part of a computer system was reported stolen from the Masonic Lodge on Ohio 598.

11:54 a.m. — Police responded to a verbal domestic dispute in the 500 block of Second Avenue.

12:38 p.m. — Police received a call form the 100 block of Rensch Avenue about a domestic dispute where a person reported being abused.

2:19 p.m. — A reported of an employee stealing items from Duke and Duchess, 745 Harding Way West was reported.

5:21 p.m. — Police received a report of a car being broken into in the 100 block of South Union Street.

5:23 p.m. — Police talked to the parents of several kids who reportedly were fighting in the 200 block of Libby Lane.

9:02 p.m. — A report of public indecency was received from Wendy’s on Harding Way West.

11:08 a.m. — A disturbance between two girls was reported in the 500 block of Galion Arms Court. Officers warned the two to stay away from one another or risk arrest.

Saturday

1:44 a.m. — Two people were charged with disorderly conduct after police investigated a fight in the road in the 300 block of North Columbus Street.

7:16 a.m. — A window was reported broken at Posey D’s, 640 E. Church Street.

9:22 a.m. — Police responded to a report of someone carrying items out of an abandoned house in the 200 block of South Liberty Street. No one was there when officers arrived.

1:03 p.m. — Police took information for a report on an alleged incident the previous night in the 500 block of Richardson Avenue. Police received a call from the same area three hours later in which a woman said a man took her keys and would not allow her to leave. The incident had reportedly been resolved by the time police arrived.

6:06 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a needle on the ground in the 700 block of Carter Drive. They picked up the needle and disposed of it.

7:18 p.m. — Police responded to the 300 block of Oak Street in response to a dispute between neighbors.

Sunday

4:28 a.m. — Police collected evidence and information after an alleged rape was reported at at North Boston Street residence.

11:52 a.m. — A landlord called police so they could make a report about damage done to a residence in the 500 block of Virgil Street.

3:06 p.m. — Police responded to a report from the first block of Heise Park Lane about a possible drug transaction taking place. One person was arrested on a warrant from Pike County, but police said no contraband was found.

4:36 p.m. — Disorderly conduct citations were issued to two people in the 500 block of First Avenue after neighbors called to complain about people fighting.

11:57 p.m. — Police responded to a call in the 300 block of North Columbus Street about suspicious activity by a neighbor. He said he was scared by the neighbor’s actions.

Monday

10:50 a.m. — Information was taken for a report after it was determined kids had been swimming in the Heise Park pool overnight.

11:45 a.m. — Police responded to a domestic dispute between siblings in the 600 block of Harding Way East

11:50 a.m. — A boy was bitten by a dog in the 1400 block of Baehr Street. The boy’s father gave police information about the dog’s owner and information was taken for a report.

3:47 p.m. — Police responded to the 100 block of Buehler Street in reference to someone dropping off yard debris illegally. The dumpers were gone by the time police arrived.

3:59 p.m. — A complaint of a dog barking was received from the 900 block of South Market Street.

4:42 p.m. — A man was arrested for domestic violence in the 1000 block of Harding Way East after an acquaintance called police and said she was being thrown around.

6:36 p.m. — Police received a report about a dog chasing people in the 100 block of Eighth Avenue.

8:01 p.m. — Police responded to a man sitting in the railroad tracks at South Market Street and County Line Road. An acquaintance called about the man, who said he was waiting for a train to come by and hit him. Officers took the man to a safe location and asked to be called again if something happened.

10:28 p.m. — Police helped a family get a cat out of vent in the 400 block of Sherman Street.
