GALION — The Galion Lady Tigers beat Wynford 13-3 Tuesday, and they celebrated senior night for Aleena Truman, Danielle Schieber, Jaime Ehrman, Madesyn Lawson and Dusty Thomas.

The Royals got the scoring started in the top of the first inning, plating two runs on two Galion errors. However, the Tigers responded in a big way, putting up a five-spot in the home half of the first. Nevaeh Clark delivered a big, three-run homerun while Dani Schieber and Jaime Ehrman delivered RBI singles.

From that point on, the game was all Galion.

The Lady Tigers put up an additional three runs in the third, four in the fourth and one in the fifth to secure the 10-run rule win. Wynford’s final run came in the top of the fifth and final inning.

Schieber was the winning pitcher on the day, throwing five innings and allowed just three runs on five hits while striking out four batters. Schiber had three hits and three RBI at the plate to help her cause.

Clark finished the day with the aforementioned three-run homer, a pair of singles and six runs batted in. Aleena Truman, Emily Sedmak and Ehrman all put up a multi-hit game for the home team.

In total, Galion scored their 13 runs on 14 hits and committed two errors in the first inning.

District tournament play continues for the Tigers on Wednesday May 17. Galion will square off against the Willard Lady Crimson Flashes at Lexington High School in the district semi-finals. Action is set to begin at 5 p.m. The winner of that contest will play Colonel Crawford on Friday May 19 at 5 p.m, also at Lexington. Crawford defeated Edison on Tuesday, 5-2 to advance to the district final game.
