Wynford students headed to State Envirothon

BUCYRUS — Forty-six teams of high school students from Northwest Ohio competed at the Ohio Area 1 Envirothon, held at the Hardin County on April 26.

The competition ended with Wynford students placing first and earning the honor tocompete at the Ohio State Envirothon June 12-13 at Ohio Christian University in Pickaway County.

 Crawford County was represented by two teams from Wynford. The second Wynford team placed 11th. Only the top four teams from each of the five Area Envirothon competitions across the state qualified for state competition.

The Envirothon is a multi-disciplinary, environmental problem solving competition hosted by Soil and Water Conservation Districts. Teams of four to five high school students train and compete in soils, aquatics, forestry, wildlife, and current environmental issues.
