A Galion man is in critical condition following a Tuesday morning crash in Caledonia in Marion County.

According to reports, Travis E. Wolford, 23, of Galion was driving a 1998 Suzuki GSXR750 motorcycle westbound on State Route 309, where a car driven by Maureen E. Welch, 71, of Caledonia, attempted to make a left turn onto Main Street and failed to yield at the intersection and was struck by Wolford.

Officials said Wolford was ejected from the motorcycle and both vehicles came to rest on State Route 309.

Wolford was treated at the scene by First Consolidated EMS until Medflight arrived to transport him by air to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, reports indicated, adding Wolford is listed in critical condition and he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Welch reported no injuries from the crash and her safety belt was in use, officials said.
