Galion police searching for robbery suspect

GALION — The Galion Police Department is seeking help identifying a robbery suspect.

The robbery occurred Thursday day at Check Into Cash, 703 Harding Way East, after a 9-1-1 call was received at 12:11 p.m. The caller stated the suspect showed part of a gun that was in his pocket. He took money from the cash register and left the store on foot.

The witness description of the suspect was: white male, heavyset. He was wearing a grey, hooded sweatshirt with faded blue jeans, and blue athletic shorts over the jeans. Also, there was a tan or beige bandage wrap covering the lower portion of his face

Police officers were assisted by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office to look for the suspect but were unable to locate an individual matching this description. The crime scene was processed by the Galion Police Department’s Special Investigation Unit and footage from security cameras in the area is under review.
