GALION — Katie Keller, a senior at Galion High School, was selected as the October 2016 Student of the Month. The positive character trait for October at GHS was “respect.”
Katie is a member of National Honor Society, Teen Green, Academic Challenge, Yearbook staff, and she is involved in theatre productions.
“Being named Student of the Month means being held to a higher standard than other students,” said Keller. “My goal is to eventually become a teacher or historian, and I want to make history come alive for other people like my teachers did for me.”
Following graduation, Katie plans to continue her education at Youngstown State University and study history and languages.
“Katie displays respect every day and is a good role model for students,” said High School Principal Ron Williams. “She is very deserving of this honor and I am excited to see what the future holds for her.”
