TIFFIN —Colonel Crawford’s Chad Johnson continued to dominate on area cross country courses. On Saturday, he won the Division III boys race at Hedges Boyer Park in Tiffin, with a time of 15:41.24.
Although the Eagles finished 8th in the team standings. The top seven teams advanced.
Johnson will be joined at next week’s state cross country meet at National Trails Raceway in Tiffin by teammates Brad Bauer and Nick Studer. Bauer finished 11th with a time of 17:01.38 and Studer crossed the finish line in 13th place with a time of 17:07.40.
The other runners in the boys race were Braxton James (148th, 19:15.92), Alex Mutchler (156th, 19:28.37) and Zach Leonhart (159th, 19:35.15).
The Colonel Crawford girls team will be represented in Hebron, too. Anna Reffey kept her season alive for another week. She was 13th in the Division III race, 19:44.18 to keep her season alive. The top 28 runners in the girls run advanced in the boys and girls Division III races in Tiffin.
The girls race was won by Emily Sreenan from Lima Central Catholic in 18:38.73. Minster won the team title. Colonel Crawford finished in 10th of 22 teams.
Also running for the Eagles were: Emily Kemper (56th, 21:15.96), Courtney Britt (72nd, 21:46.89), Katie Hopkins (101st, 22:39.77), Sydney Studer (130th, 23:32.93), Kari Teglovic (134th, 23:41.98) and Courtney Lyons (157th, 24:59.96).
The boys races at Hebron start at 11 a.m. with the Division III race. The Division II race is at 11:45 a.m. and the Division III race is at 12:30 p.m.
The Division III girls race at Hebron starts at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by Division II at 2:15 p.m. and Division I at 3 p.m.
