HomeCare Matters honors caregivers, volunteers

GALION — HomeCare Matters Home Health and Hospice had its annual Volunteer and Caregiver Recognition Dinner on Oct. 4 at Peace Lutheran Church in Galion.

Ken Bodkins, Sr., Bruce Cook and Debra Cook were awarded certificates of appreciation and recognition for their outstanding care and service to family members.

Caregivers make many personal sacrifices to provide care for someone who depends on their support to live independently or comfortably. The dedication and hard work that is required of caregivers is commendable. Caregiver assistance may include help with meals, handling or paying bills, shopping, companionship or daily healthcare and medication needs. The time commitment of caregivers varies from a few hours a week to several hours daily and sometimes 24-hours of continuous care.
