Wolfe, Clark key Crestline win over Grove City Christian

CRESTLINE — J.R. Wolfe had a hand in every point scored in the Crestline Bulldogs 1o-7 Friday evening win over Grove City Christian.

Wolfe kicked a 24-yard field goal in the first quarter to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead, en route to their first win of the season.

Trailing 7-3 in the third period, Wolfe scored on a 3-yard run and added the extra point to account for the final score.

It was an interception of a Wolfe pass in the second quarter that resulted in an 82-yard return that gave Grove City Christian it’s only score of the game and a 7-3 halftime advantage.

J.C. Clark carried much of the offensive load for Crestline. He was the game’s leading rusher, picking up 131 yards on 27 attempts.

Wolfe completed 3 of 8 passes for 43 yards and rushed for 30 yards. Crestline picked up 234 yards on the ground.

Grove City Christian gained 99 yards on the ground and 99 via the air on a 3 of 14 passing effort.

Crestline picked off two passes, by Chandler Gaskill and Tyler Sipes.

The Bulldogs play South Central, on the road next week. South Central is 0-2, having lost 54-20 to Seneca East in Week 1. The Trojans got beat Friday by Rittman, 19-14.

The Bulldogs are 1-1 this year. Worthington Christian falls to 0-2.
