AKRON — Akron Children’s Hospital will offer rehabilitative services in Mansfield, beginning Monday.

Akron Children’s will have pediatric-focused physical, occupational and speech therapists available Monday through Friday at 371 Cline Ave. This is the same location for Akron Children’s Urgent Care Center and Specialty Care Office.

“We know families value health care close to home so we are very pleased to bring our therapists to Mansfield,” said Mary Marino, director of Rehabilitative Services for Akron Children’s. “We have many patient families who come to our main campus in downtown Akron from Mansfield and this is something they have requested. It will be very convenient for their children’s therapy appointments.”

Akron Children’s therapists work with infants, children and teens who require therapy following an illness or injury or to manage the effects of a chronic condition, such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, or an autism spectrum disorder.

“Our therapists work with patients from every department in the hospital and cover the full spectrum of therapy needs, from newborns with feeding disorders and toddlers with speech delays to children with learning problems and teens with developmental delays working toward independent living,” said Marino. “The staff at this office can provide the initial evaluation with a physician’s order, as well as provide the ongoing therapy sessions.”

Appointments will be available from 8 am to 6 pm. To make an appointment, call 419-521-2920.

“Akron Children’s is known for pediatric-focused rehab services,” said Marino. “We are an independent children’s hospital so that has been and always will be our focus.”

In addition to Rehabilitative Services and Urgent Care, Akron Children’s also offers Cardiology, Orthopedics, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Radiology and Laboratory services at this location.
