Galion Farmers Market begins

0

The NorthSide Farmers Market in Galion kicked off the season last Thursday night in Heise Park.

The market will be filled with local products straight from the farms and will be held every Thursday from 4:00-6:30 through mid-October. Local producers will bring their fruits, vegetables, honey, maple syrup and baked goods. We also have a great lineup of crafters and other hand-made products.

Vendors this year include:

Edible Landscapes (produce) Laughing Hills Stock Farm (all natural beef) Green Patch Garden Organics (organic plants) Bill’s Bakery (baked goods) Heavenly Suds Soap (soaps and other natural body products) Back To Our Roots Farm (chicken, pork, eggs and jams) Clutter Baskets and Caning (hand woven baskets) Brokensword Apiaries (raw, unprocessed varietal honey) Leather Designs (belts and other leather goods)

Tae’s Bakery (baked goods) Photos By Jestina (baked goods and photos) Friends of the Galion Library Oh So Delicious (dips and spreads) Brick House (rubs and brew stirs)

Glitter and Stitches (hairbows, headbands and hair accessories)

L&M Sweets

We’d like to remind you that many vendors will be able to accept SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) again this year. SNAP recipients may bring their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards to the market and obtain tokens that may be used to purchase fresh, local vegetables, fruits, honey and preserves, among other products.

The NorthSide Farmers market is proud to champion the local foods movement and the associated environmental, economic and health benefits. Please support your local farmers by planning to attend!

If you’re interested in becoming a vendor, please contact Nikki Ward at 419-468-1857 or [email protected].
