The members of the Crawford County Health Partners are pleased to present the 2016 Crawford County Community Health Status Assessment on Monday May 16, 2016 at Grace Point Church; 683 Portland Way N, Galion, OH 44833.

A review of the data findings will occur from 10 am to 12:30 pm. All community members are welcome to attend.

“This meeting will provide us a chance to reflect on a broad range of Crawford County and Galion City health trends that have occurred since the last assessment was conducted. It will also prompt discussions on where the county and city have moved in positive directions in health and where we still have room for improvement,” said Trish Factor, Galion City Health Commissioner.

From the beginning, community leaders were actively engaged in the planning process and helped define the content, scope, and sequence of the study. Data was collected through health surveys mailed to a random sample of Crawford County adult residents; as well as an additional sampling of Galion City adult residents.

A random sample of students were selected and surveyed in Crawford County schools. The goal was to identify key strengths, weaknesses, and health concerns for residents of Crawford County and Galion City. The final report is ready for release. The report will be posted for review and public comment. Feedback from the public will be used to clarify and validate the key findings of the assessment.

This comprehensive Community Health Assessment is the result of a strong commitment by dedicated community partners working together to improve the health and quality of life of Crawford County/ Galion City residents.

The health assessment gives us a snapshot of our community as well as a comparison to the state of Ohio and our nation. The 2016 Crawford County & Galion City Community Health Status Assessment was made possible through funding from the Galion City Health Department, Crawford County Public Health, Crawford-Marion County ADAMH Board, Community Foundation for Crawford County, Crawford County Education & Economic Development Partnership, City of Bucyrus and Avita Health System.
