Bucyrus prom Saturday

On April 30, Bucyrus students will enjoy a “Hollywood Night.” This year’s prom night will be held at the Bucyrus Secondary School. Doors will open to the public at 7 p.m., with the Grand March starting at 7:30 p.m. followed by a dance in the Middle School gym from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m.

“This night is the highlight of the school year for these kids,” Event Coordinator Amy Moody said. “For the seniors it’s the last big event they will get to share with their classmates and friends before graduation. Our hope is that they enjoy their evening while making positive memories that will last them a lifetime.”

The Prom King and Queen will be announced at the conclusion of the Grand March. Lifetouch will be on hand to take professional photographs as well.

“Our students look forward to this evening with great anticipation and excitement,” Secondary School Principal Dr. Mark Burke said. “Amy Moody and Kayli McCullough, our prom co-advisors, have done a great job working with our students this year. We want all those in attendance to have a great time, but we also want them to be safe and respectful to each other.”

Following the prom, students will have the opportunity to participate in After-Prom activities at the Bucyrus YMCA that will begin at midnight and end at 3 a.m. Activities for the evening will include swimming, basketball, corn hole, racquetball, movie, pizza, card games and Ping-Pong will be available for students.
